You might see a few different statuses on your student's learning logs.

Here's an overview of what they mean and how our team of dedicated teachers determines which status to apply!

Complete

  • Your student confirmed participation for all required subjects on the education plan (or provided an approved explanation)

  • Your student provided a 3-5 sentence reflection from the week related to either a subject area or a competency

Incomplete (Sent back for resubmit)

One or more of the following applies:

  • Your student didn't confirm participation for all of their required subjects on the education plan (or they didn't provide an approved explanation)

  • Your student didn't provide a 3-5 sentence summary of a reflection from the week related to either a subject area or a competency

  • Your student will need to resubmit the log with the required information

Action Required (Not Submitted)

  • Your student didn't submit the learning log by its due date

  • Your student will need to submit the log with the required information

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the different statuses I might see on my student's learning log?

You may see three statuses: Complete (all requirements met with participation confirmation and 3-5 sentence reflection), Incomplete (sent back for resubmit due to missing requirements), or Action Required (not submitted by due date).

What does a Complete status mean on a learning log?

A Complete status means your student confirmed participation for all required subjects on the education plan (or provided an approved explanation) and provided a 3-5 sentence reflection from the week related to either a subject area or a competency.

What happens if my student's learning log is marked Incomplete?

If marked Incomplete, your student didn't meet one or more requirements (participation confirmation or reflection) and will need to resubmit the log with the required information.

What does Action Required status mean?

Action Required means your student didn't submit the learning log by its due date and will need to submit the log with all required information.

Is there a different scoring guide for diploma-seeking students?

Yes, in Utah there is a separate diploma-seeking scoring guide available for students pursuing a diploma track.
