The Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) is a series of assessments used to measure students' progress toward success in college and career.

Q: What are the technology requirements for this assessment? What devices can my student use?

A: A laptop will be provided to your student when they arrive at the testing site. This laptop will already be set up with everything they need to take the assessment.

Parents will be asked to sit outside the testing room while your student completes the test.

Nevada - Science

  • Only for grades 5 and 8
  • Covers Science subject area only
  • Single testing session lasting approximately 2 hours
  • No opt-out option available

Nevada - ELA/Math

  • For grades 3-8
  • Covers both ELA and Math subject areas
  • Two separate testing sessions (one for each subject)
  • Each session has Computer Adaptive Test and Performance Task components

These assessments are aligned with Nevada's Academic Content Standards in ELA and Math.
